Inner Child Work in Spokane Valley

Build a Kinder Relationship with Yourself

You may know you’re allowed to say no and still feel guilty when you do. You might want closeness but struggle to believe someone cares about you. Or perhaps a small mistake brings up a familiar feeling of never being good enough.

Sometimes, the ways we learned to protect ourselves when we were young continue to shape how we respond as adults.

Inner Child Work offers space to explore those responses with compassion. Through guided hypnosis, you can connect with a younger part of yourself and practice offering the reassurance and care you may have needed.

At Awakened Lotus, we approach this experience gently, with respect for your comfort and what you’re ready to explore.

What Is Inner Child Work?

Your “inner child” is a way of understanding the feelings and needs you carry from your younger years. This can include your sense of wonder and playfulness, along with experiences that influenced how you see yourself.

As children, we make meaning from what happens around us with the understanding we have at the time. We may come to believe we need to be helpful to be loved, stay quiet to keep the peace, or do everything perfectly to avoid disappointing someone.

Inner Child Work invites you to notice whether those old beliefs still influence your life and consider what you would like to believe about yourself now.

What Happens During a Session?

Before we begin, we’ll talk about what brings you here and what you hope to experience differently in your life.

During hypnosis, I’ll guide you to connect with a younger version of yourself through imagination, feelings, or a sense of knowing. You might offer reassurance, listen to what comes forward, or simply spend time with that part of yourself without asking anything of them.

How Could This Help in Everyday Life?

The intention is to help you develop a more supportive relationship with yourself today.

That might mean noticing the urge to please someone and giving yourself a moment to consider your own needs. It could mean responding to a mistake with encouragement or allowing yourself to receive care without feeling you have to earn it.

This work can also create room for the parts of you that enjoy being curious and playful. Reconnecting with your younger self may help you remember what feels enjoyable, beyond what is useful or expected of you.

Your experience will be personal. We’ll make time afterward to reflect on what felt meaningful and how you might practice that understanding in daily life.
